First-time setup
On first launch, Vacarme walks you through a multi-step journey. You can go back at any point, but you can't skip an unfinished step — and you can resume the journey later from Settings if you get interrupted.
Language
Choose the app's language. It applies immediately and you can change it later in Settings.
Brand (workspace)
Give your brand a name and, if you have one, its website. Two ways to continue:
- Automatic analysis: paste your website's URL, Vacarme analyses it and pre-fills a full knowledge base (summary, value proposition, target audience, positioning, competitors, keywords, features, use cases, pricing, differentiators). You can then review, correct, or start from scratch.
- Manual form: fill in the fields yourself.
At least half of the knowledge base fields need to be filled in to continue — that's what lets the AI write relevant content later.
Chrome extension
Add the Vacarme extension to Chrome (or a Chrome-based browser). Vacarme detects on its own when it is installed, linked to the app and ready. During setup, the extension only reads: it doesn't post, click or start any task. Install steps and details: Chrome extension.
Don't use Chrome? Choose "I don't use Chrome": you'll be able to paste a few of your texts in the next step.
Connect your AI
The app's brain (chat, agent, writing) runs on your AI. Paste an OpenAI, Anthropic or OpenRouter API key, then press Test.
No key at hand? Choose "Later": the app starts on Vacarme credits (the "Vacarme" profile), and you can plug in your key at any time in Settings > Your AI. Details and per-provider walkthrough: Connect your AI.
Your voice
Pick where you write among 12 sources: LinkedIn, X, Instagram, Facebook, Threads, Bluesky, Substack, Medium, your website or blog, Malt, Behance and YouTube. Vacarme opens each page in a tab of your Chrome, right in front of you, and reads only your own content (your profile and about twenty of your posts), once. If a site asks you to sign in, sign in in that tab: reading resumes by itself. You can skip a source or stop everything at any time.
Vacarme then shows you what it understood: your tone, your writing rules, examples, your style per network, your topics and your profile details (name, job, business contact). You correct, tick what you keep, then save. Nothing is saved without your approval.
Without Chrome, paste a few texts you wrote, or fill in your voice by hand.
Security
Choose how Aurora works: what she can do on her own and what she must ask you to approve.
Where to post
Two ways to post:
- Direct publishing: connect an account through its official connection. Vacarme posts without opening a browser.
- Through your Chrome: tick the networks (X, Reddit, YouTube…) where Aurora works in your Chrome, where you're already signed in. There's nothing to connect in Vacarme.
At least one direct publishing account or one ticked network is required to continue.
Content sources (optional)
Subscribe to "feed packs" — content/news sources grouped by topic — to feed monitoring and topic discovery. This step is entirely optional, you can skip it.
After setup
The journey ends on a completion screen that takes you straight to the Tasks tab, ready to launch your first action.
