Skills
The Skills tab shows what the agent has learned over time: how to post on a given forum, which selectors it discovered on a given site, which approaches work best.
Where skills come from
- Catalogue: the base skills maintained by the Vacarme team. They update automatically when the app starts — no update to install.
- Agent: learned automatically by the agent by observing what works.
- Strategy: derived from a plan or piece of research.
- User: added manually by you.
Each skill keeps a history of successes/failures, which lets the agent improve over time — and flag itself when an approach stops working (a site changed its interface, for example).
Catalogue skills improve for everyone
Catalogue skills are read-only on your machine: you can open them to see exactly how the agent works, but they can't be edited by hand. This protects every user — instructions that run inside the agent can't be tampered with locally.
They still get better over time. When the agent notices during a task that a skill's instructions no longer match reality (a site moved a button, a flow changed), it can propose an improvement. The proposal is reviewed automatically on our side — usefulness is checked and manipulation attempts are blocked — and if it's validated, the improved skill reaches all users at their next app launch.
Create your own skills
For anything the catalogue doesn't cover, create a personal skill:
- From the Skills tab, with the New skill button: give it a name and describe, step by step, what the agent should do.
- Or simply ask the chat — the agent can create and run a custom skill for you.
Personal skills belong to you and stay on your machine. They are never shared or distributed to other users.
